As Director of Community and Economic Development for the City of Albany, Mr. Hawthorne was a dedicated leader, mentor, and servant who cared deeply about people and community. We were honored to work alongside him and will forever be grateful for his wisdom, leadership, faith, and example.

The Arthur K. Williams MicroBusiness Enterprise Center exists for the sole purpose of providing entrepreneurs with the opportunity to Start, Grow and Thrive. This incubator is known as the focal point and catalyst for the economic development of Albany’s Today & Tomorrow.
There has been a real increase in growth, investment and creation of jobs by Albany’s leading businesses of tomorrow that are providing unique facilities and services, as well as access to training, mentoring, networking and capital in the MicroBusiness Enterprise Center (MBEC).
